Subject: 10222/Budget/Approp/GreatChattSportsCommittee Date: Fri, 18 Aug 1989 14:54:00 -0500 ORDINANCE NO. 10222 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($12,500.00) TO THE GREATER CHATTANOOGA SPORTS COMMITTEE, A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION, FOR PARTIAL FUNDING OF A RECREATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD AT THE BROWN ACRES GOLF COURSE. WHEREAS, the Greater Chattanooga Sports Committee is a non-profit charitable organization qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the common good and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Chattanooga that funds be provided for partial funding of the recreational golf tournament to be held at the Brown Acres Golf Course in order to lure fans of professional golf tournaments from throughout the region to the City, to establish the City of Chattanooga as a professional golf tournament location and to offer sports competition for local citizens to enjoy, with other funding to be provided by Hamilton County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That: SECTION 1. The additional sum of $12,500.00 be appropriated to the Greater Chattanooga Sports Committee for partial funding of a recreational golf tournament to be held at the Brown Acres Golf Course. 0C SECTION 2. The Budget Ordinance of the City of Chattanooga for the fiscal year 1994-1995, Ordinance No. 10080, as amended, shall be amended to include the additional sum of $12,500.00 which shall be payable from the Contingency Fund as an expenditure to the Greater Chattanooga Sports Committee for partial funding of a recreational golf tournament to be held at the Brown Acres Golf Course. The total sum of all funds provided to the Greater Chattanooga Sports Committee for fiscal year 1994-95 will be in the amount of $87,500.00 after this appropriation. SECTION 3. As a prerequisite of obtaining any funds from the City of Chattanooga, the Greater Chattanooga Sports Committee shall file with the Mayor and City Council Clerk a copy of its annual report of its business affairs and transactions including its annual audit, its program of benefit to the residents of the City of Chattanooga and its proposed usage of municipal assistance which can be reviewed by the public prior to the expenditure of any funds. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as required by law.
